Many devices managed by CDO, though not all, connect to CDO through a Secure Device Connector (SDC). In these cases, CDO and the devices it manages do not communicate directly. Meraki MX, Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) when onboarded using a serial number or registration token, and AWS devices do not require an SDC to connect to CDO.
When you onboard devices that require a Secure Device Connector (SDC) to connect to CDO, they are associated with the default Secure Device Connector (SDC) for your tenant. At the time you onboard a device, you can specify a different SDC than the default. You can specify which SDC is selected by default on Secure Connectors page.
- From the account menu, select Secure Connectors.
- Select the SDC that you want to be the default.
- In the Actions pane, click Make Default. If you don't see the Make Default action, then the SDC already is the default SDC.
