Create the DHCP IPv6 Pool

Create a DHCP IPv6 Pool for use with the DHCPv6 server. The DHCPv6 server provides information such as the DNS server or domain name when they clients send Information Request (IR) packets to the threat defense. The DHCP IPv6 Pool defines the parameters to sent in IR messages.

This feature is only supported in routed mode. This feature is not supported in clustering or High Availability.

Procedure


Step 1

Choose Objects > Object Management.

Step 2

Choose DHCP IPv6 Pool from the list of object types.

Step 3

Click Add (add icon).

Step 4

Configure the DNS Server and Domain Name.

You can either manually define the values and click Add, or you can check Import to use one or more parameters that the threat defense obtained from the DHCPv6 server on the Prefix Delegation client interface. You can mix and match manually-configured parameters with imported parameters; however, you cannot configure the same parameter manually and also use Import.

Step 5

Define Other Server Options.

You can define the domain name and IP address for the following servers:

  • NIS

  • NISP

  • SIP

  • SNTP

  1. Click Add (add icon).

  2. Choose the server type under Option, and either manually define the Domain Name and Address, or check Import.

    Import uses one or more parameters that the threat defense obtained from the DHCPv6 server on the Prefix Delegation client interface. You can mix and match manually-configured parameters with imported parameters; however, you cannot configure the same parameter manually and also use Import.

  3. Click Save.

  4. Repeat for each server type.

Click Save.
