Labels

A label is a tag with color coding that

  • can be assigned to rules and static objects in Cloud-Delivered Firewall Management Center

  • adds a visible marker and descriptive name to the assigned item, and

  • is displayed wherever the object or rule appears in the Cloud-Delivered Firewall Management Center interface.

Label organization and management

Labels in Cloud-Delivered Firewall Management Center provide organizational capabilities that enhance management efficiency and clarity.

In Cloud-Delivered Firewall Management Center, labels improve management of rules and static objects in these ways:

  • Enable quick searching and filtering of rules and objects, streamlining navigation and improving audit efficiency.

  • Provide immediate visual cues through color-coding, helping you quickly distinguish categories or statuses at a glance. As rule sets and object lists grow, labels improve visibility, support faster grouping and filtering, and help you identify related rules or objects without reviewing each one individually.

  • Maintain label associations within change management workflows, ensuring visibility and traceability during policy reviews and approvals.

Note

  • You can assign a maximum of four labels to an object or a rule.

  • Labels are an organizational tool. They do not affect rule logic or policy enforcement.

Label assignment examples

You can assign labels to your access control rules according to application type, such as email services or malicious sites, or according to business unit, such as Finance or Sales Operations. You can then filter or group items by label. This approach makes it easier to review configurations and conduct audits.
