Configure an SMTP server
Configure an SMTP server to enable email alerts in Syslog. Ensure the source email address configured for Syslog is a valid account on the SMTP servers.
Before you begin
Ensure that the network objects for the primary and secondary SMTP server addresses exist. Define the objects using . You can also create these objects when you edit the policy.
Procedure
Step 1 | Choose and create or edit the Firewall Threat Defense policy. |
Step 2 | Click SMTP Server. |
Step 3 | Select the network objects that identify the Primary Server IP Address and optionally, the Secondary Server IP Address. |
Step 4 | Click Save. You can now go to and deploy the policy to assigned devices. The changes are not active until you deploy them. |
After completing this task, email alerts can be sent through Syslog using the specified SMTP servers.
