Upload source files to file lists

This task enables you to upload source files to file lists, allowing for efficient management and use of file data within the system.

You must have the Malware Defense license for this procedure.

Use this task when you need to add values from a source file to an existing file list in the system.

Procedure

Step 1

Choose Objects.

Step 2

Click File List.

Step 3

Click Edit (edit icon) next to the file list where you want to add values from a source file.

If View (View button) appears instead, the object belongs to an ancestor domain, or you do not have permission to modify the object.

Step 4

In the Add by drop-down list, choose List of SHAs.

Step 5

(Optional) Enter a description of the source file in the Description field. If you do not enter a description, the system uses the file name.

Step 6

Click Browse to browse to the source file, then click Upload and Add List.

Step 7

Click Save.

After you complete these steps, the system uploads the source file and adds its values to the selected file list.

What to do next

  • If an active policy references your object, deploy configuration changes.

Note

After you deploy the policies, the system stops querying the AMP cloud for files on the list.
